The Smatree AE9000 Intelligent Battery Base for Amazon Echo is another battery boot that will allow owners to enjoy their Echo as a portable speaker. It is described as a Magnetic Charging Connector that is easy to install. The base connects to the Echo by using a magnetic charging connector instead of a cable. This prevents having to worry about winding cables. It also ensures the stability of the Echo while positioned in the battery base.
The AE9000 can be charged via the Echo’s original AC adapter, a 5V Micro USB adapter (5V/2A) with a power bank. If the input is lower than 5V/1.5A, the battery base will not charge.
The AE9000 can be connected with the AC power adapter for long periods of time without worry that it will damage the battery or the Echo. What’s unique about the Smatree battery boot is that it has a built-in smart IC (Iintegrated Circuit: a charge regulator controller). It functions as a way to distinguish the boot’s working state automatically as it determines the time to start charging the battery.
LED lights and a power switch are located on the outside of the base. However, the LED lights are four small inconspicuous dots that won’t bother you if in a darkened room. The manufacturer states the AE9000 LED lighter will not flash. It doesn’t matter if the battery boot is in standby or working status. It is designed for the LED lights not to be disturbing whether during the day or night.

inserted into the bottom of the Echo. It is then placed on top of the Smatree base. The power button on the front of the base is used to turn the Echo on or off. From the base you can insert the Echo’s original power cord to charge or use the included power bank.
Estimated charging time using the Echo power cord is four hours when the base is not being used. If a Micro USB cord is used with the power bank for charging, the estimated charge time is five hours when the base is in a non-working status.
This is a large battery, the AE9000 has the capacity of 9000mAh/33.3Wh. Battery life when using this battery base with the Echo is reportedly 5 to 8 hours.
